Market commentary attaches a reason to most moves and rarely checks it afterwards. Causa publishes each explanation with the price level that would invalidate it, then records the outcome against official closes.
We cover the markets that traders, investors and business owners watch most: oil, the major stock indexes, US Treasury yields, the dollar, gold, bitcoin and ether. We treat them as one system: a supply shock in the Gulf moves oil first, then inflation expectations and rate pricing, and risk assets with them.
Causa is written for readers anywhere in the world. We use plain English, give times in New York and GMT, and keep each file to a few minutes of reading.
How we work
Causa is an independent markets desk. We combine AI tools with editorial judgment to gather data, draft and verify each Cause File. Every figure is checked against its source. Every test is set before the market can answer it. Every edition is reviewed and approved by an editor before publication, and the desk answers publicly for every correction. The full process is on the method page.
Why there are no bylines
Causa is published by its desk rather than under personal names. Every file is checked by an editor before it goes out, and the desk answers for it as a whole. We would rather be judged on the record than on a name, and the record is public: each explanation carries its sources, its grade and the test that would prove it wrong, and the Scorecard shows how every test turned out.
Independence and funding
Causa is independent and self-funded. It takes no payment to cover or avoid any company, coin or exchange. If Causa adds paid research or partner links, they will be labelled, and they will never change what a Cause File says.
